Cisco Connect: The Next Day of Secure Networking

How was the world last year? Is it any different this year?
Travelers across Europe faced a weekend of disruption on Friday, 19 September, after airports including London Heathrow, Berlin Brandenburg and Brussels were hit by flight delays and cancellations following a cyber-attack. It was a wake-up call about the vulnerabilities in our interconnected world. In an exciting twist, Albania has made history by becoming the first country to appoint an AI minister. Her name, Diella, the virtual minister crafted from pixels and powered by artificial intelligence, tasked with overseeing public procurement.
We are going through the AI era that brings great networking opportunities and great threats at the same time. Connecting people, places, data and things comes together with effectively protecting against threats, downtime and risk. AI is transforming every industry. However, according to the 2024 Cisco AI Readiness Index, while 75% of executives anticipate AI will significantly impact their industry, only 14% feel fully prepared for this transformation.
But is there any remedy? For businesses to build a path towards digital resilience, AI-ready data centers, future-proofed workplaces and secure global networking are necessary. What about the workforce? The best team won’t be artificial or human. It will be the collaboration between the two. While talent is equally distributed around the world, opportunities are not. Therefore, collaboration among academic institutions, industries and society is vital to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. This collaboration must focus on educating, reskilling and upskilling individuals to enhance their skills and unlock their potential.

Neurosoft was a proud Gold Sponsor with a booth and the inspiring presentation “Cisco ACI in Production: Real-world Journey from Design to Delivery”. From exploring the latest trends in datacenter networking to unveiling the wide range of cybersecure Cisco network solutions applicable to a variety of industries, the session was nothing short of enlightening. Daniil Avramidis, Neurosoft PMO Director, and Jan Janovic, ALEF Datacenter & Networking Team Leader, shared insights that bridged the gap between theory and practical application, showcasing a compelling real-life case from a utility organization. Daniil Avramidis emphasized that transforming theory into reality requires a unique blend of key ingredients: a fierce desire, a realistic budget, a team of skilled engineers, top-tier vendors like Cisco, and the right partners, such as Neurosoft and ALEF. Most importantly, he highlighted the essential elements of collaboration and team spirit that drive success.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the speakers for their enlightening presentations and to everyone who made this event possible!
